BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT MANAGER

You may be the perfect person for this role. Our small business is looking for a new team member to support the owners of Midwest Bil lboards and Midwest Visio n Net. Our indoor and outdoor digital billboard company is in the heart of Delano ( Kansas). We have a true passion for our city and the advertising products we sell.

Our company is growing and while we are a husband and w ife that work together, we are now seeking a team member to help keep us organize and build new systems and processes for our sales, marketing, and support with the buildout of new indoor and outdoor billboards.

Excellent communication and organizationa l skills are a must. This position is a terrific opportunity for an outgoing, competitive, energetic individual who wants to learn about media and/or advertising sales and marketing for indoor and outdoor digital billboards. Candidates must have their own car, valid driver’s license, and insurance. Travel will be expected to and from Wichita, Kansas, and Oklahoma City

DETAILS

Schedule: 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday (8:30 AM to 5:30 PM, 8 hours a day), office closed on all major holidays, great flexibility during the holiday seasons.
Income: $32-35k/year + Commission (negotiable) + Gas/Expenses/Travel
Located in Delano (Wichita, Kansas) – A fun part of town and our office is next door to the best coffee in the USA!

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Make sales calls to potential clients (business owners and advertising agencies) in various markets
• Maintain current client relationships and identify areas for potential clients
• Strong understanding of company products and services as well as business position and competition to keep our business competitive
• Train junior sales team to improve sales, meet expectations and report to owners
• Give your opinion on company marketing plans, materials and how we communicate with our clients
• Visit area clients and potential customers at their place of business
• Weekly travel to area markets (rural towns in Kansas and Oklahoma)
• Negotiate and complete contracts for indoor billboard units that will be installed January 2022 in the Wichita market (host units and advertisers)
• Minimal updates on social media outlets – Facebook, Instagram, YouTube and LinkedIn
• Work with Sales Team on a day-to-day basis with advertising sales support
• Maintain and update sales databases (a strong skill set using Excel and Google Sheets is key)
• Help with event demonstrations (a strong skill set using PowerPoint, Zoom and Google Presentations is key)
• A strong skill set using Outlook and Google Mail is key – great if you have experience in Slack or other organizational platforms and CRMs
• Assisting in minimal event planning
• Attendance at area events in Oklahoma City and Wichita

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

• College or real-world experience is preferable, ideally in business, communications, or marketing
• Excellent MS Excel experience and proficient with Microsoft Office for Windows applications
• Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail
• Quick learner with social media channels
• Team player with ability to take direction and work independently when needed
• Strong communication skills, including an understanding of grammar
• Capable of juggling multiple projects and meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Intelligent, flexible, self-starter, motivated, effective, take-charge personality
• Database experience (especially Google Sheets) is a plus
• Sales experience over the phone and in person
• Comfortable with Canva.com platform
• Some knowledge on setting up and creating basic videos to use internally or on social media
• Knowledge in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, and Illustrator)
